Tycho Brahe was born at Knutstorp Castle in Skåne county. He was an amazing astronomical scientist. In 1572 Tycho Brahe founded a new star, and he wanted to further research this star, so the Danish king Frederik II gave Tycho Brahe the Island of Ven, to do more research. On Ven, he built a castle for science and art that was so great it was talked about all throughout Europe. He called this Uraniborg after urania, the goddess of astronomy. He was inspired by the Italian and Dutch Renaissance. Many scientists from all over the world, visited his castle, to learn more about astronomy.A View of the Island of Ven!
The bikes we used, to ride all across the Island of Ven, to bad the weather was very bad, but I still had a great time! You can never go wrong with a great bike ride, and an awesome view!
Tycho Brahe's castle, which is now an awesome museum!

Congrats on 600 years!
St. Maria Church of Helsingborg Sweden. It had its 600th anniversary, and I was lucky enough to get part in all the action! This celebration started with them opening up all the places that had been closed, like where all the workers where while building this church 600 years ago, I got to see tons of long wooden poles that they had to leave at the top of the church, because it was to heavy to take down. I got to see bells that were centuries old. They had a lift, to take you to the top of the Jesus Christ on the Cross, so that you could stare right in to his eyes! Also a tomb that had been closed for over 50 years, was opened, It had been originally made for a Danish king, and many others were buried in this tomb! Now for me, this has been the best experience of my whole exchange, (although I still have a little more than 11 months to go!) I love history so much, that for me to go into small rooms that were built 600 years ago, was just amazing!
This was one of the 3 bells that was on the 3 floor of this church. The first bells was from the 1500's the second somewhere around 1600's. And this one, dated all the way back to the 1300's which mean this bell is older than the church! It is also the oldest thing that remains in this church. And shockingly the next day when I attended a service at this church, you heard all 3 of these bells ringing as though they were brand new!
Jesus, as we were on are way to the top! This figure of Jesus Christ was made in Germany, all made of wood except for the nails and thorns on the crown which are made of iron. Hand craved, to so much detail that you could look into his mouth and see the throat in the back of his mouth! This was such a touching moment!

Pig blood pudding??
Something I was warned about- pig blood pudding, I think
you can just about imagine what it is. Blood from a pig, cooked with
some berries. On the side carrots and raisins, the trick is, eating
it all mixed together. Surprisingly it was not to bad, I just had to
not think about what I was eating. I don't think there is pig blood
pudding in America, or I would defiantly recombined it to everyone
back home.

Language Camp
Some of the group at language camp- It was our first day, out of a week
and you can already tell that we became very close friends, I think this is because
we are all thousands of miles away from home, and are in the same position
we could really open up to each other, which made that week just fly by!!
I learned so much Swedish that week, that hopefully when I see them again, we will
all be good enough to at least make some kind of conversation. Miss you all!!
-- P.s. camp was at Orestrand Sweden, a very very small town, still on the
coast.
